The Discovery Set from R Parfums, an independent perfume house in Saigon, holds five 2 ml vials of Eau de Parfum by Rei Nguyen: Eau de Hajime, Pluviophile, Nostalgic March, 221B and Béton Chaud. How to try

One chapter a day

Five vials, five days. A perfume shows itself slowly, and only on skin.

    One vial, one day

    Wear a single scent from morning to night. Two on the same day blur together, and you learn neither.

  2. 02

    On skin, not on paper

    A paper strip shows the opening; skin shows the rest. Apply to the inner wrist or the side of the neck, then leave it alone. Do not rub.

  3. 03

    Wait for the dry-down

    The first minutes are the loudest, and the least like the scent you would live with. Decide in the evening, by what is still there.

Three houses in Ho Chi Minh City, open every day. Each has all six scents to try on skin. Outside Vietnam, R Parfums is available only through our official distributor in Taiwan, Taigrance (小台香), in Taipei.
