R Parfums is an independent fragrance house from Saigon, Vietnam. Its six eaux de parfum each come in two 50 ml bottles: Patina on Brass, with three pieces of hand-corroded brass; and Ceramic, whose clay cap is glazed and fired in the kiln, no two quite alike. The scent inside is the same.

Patina on Brass · 50 ml
The idea came from relics in Huế; twelve months of research and development went into the Patina line. When the plate is set, piece I is still brass, piece III has turned fully to patina and piece II is caught midway. The hand lays the colour differently each time, so no two bottles are alike.
Ceramic · 50 ml
Each cap is cast in a mould, trimmed at the mouth, sponged smooth, left to dry, then glazed and fired. The raw glaze goes on pink. The kiln decides the glaze and the maker’s hand the tassel, so each Ceramic bottle comes to you as it was finished. The charm is ceramic, engraved with R.

Cut from footage at the studio where our caps are made: the clay, the moulds and the pour. Each cap is lifted out, trimmed at the mouth and sponged smooth, then left to dry. The glaze goes on pink. After the kiln come the fired colours, the tassel and the box.
