Opening words

Pluviophile – Chapter 2 – 2026

As a child, I often wondered, “Where does the rain come from? And where does it go?”

Countless times, I imagined the adventures a single raindrop went through just to reach the earth from the sky.

I still believe each raindrop has its own lifetime. This life, and countless more to come.

For this second chapter of “Pluviophile”, I let dragonfly wings carry me to wander here and there with the rain. I don’t expect it to be a happy raindrop, but rather, one that lives its life to the fullest.

Through these five scents, I wish to share those feelings with you.

With love and rain.

The exhibition

Five scents, five stories

The five scents were smelled in order, from 1 to 5. Three characters travel together: Rain, Dragonfly and Lotus. These five scents lived only in the exhibition room; they were never made to be sold.

From readers

Between 16 July and 9 August 2026, visitors filled the book by hand in Vietnamese, English and Japanese: some walked back through each scent, one wrote verse, others drew.

Thái Lê read Chapter 2 as a trip, from scent #2 to scent #5.
