Why this bottle
Patina is the thin film that forms on brass in air and moisture. It looks like corrosion; in fact it shields the metal beneath. On this bottle, three pieces hold it at three moments.
Film · Nostalgic March, 2022
The short film made for Nostalgic March. The bottle stands on a mirror among ears of rice, then between split sugarcane and white blossom. It lies on a bed of white rice, the brass pieces close to the lens. At the end, a hand reaches for the cap.
Filmed and photographed in 2022. The bottle you receive is the Patina bottle as it is made today, with a plate of its own.

Where it began
The idea came from relics in Huế; twelve months of research and development went into the Patina line.
Between the plates, the perfume glows gold through the glass and holds the three together.
The scent · Chapter III
In old Hanoi, sugarcane was cut, threaded on skewers and left among pomelo blossoms to take their scent, then eaten with afternoon tea. Nostalgic March brings back that almost forgotten custom: pomelo blossom like thin silk, the clear sweetness of sugarcane, fragrant rice tea. Perfume rarely puts these three together; here a layer of musk softens them.
Its sweetness comes not from vanilla or caramel but from tea, honey, blossom and rice cake. The base never pushes forward: in the house’s words, it “remains quiet, yet it endures.” The perfume is the same in the Patina and the Ceramic bottle.

A round cap fired at 1000°C, in a glaze that recalls Chu Đậu ceramics. The glaze shifts with the light and with each firing. The kiln decides the glaze and the maker’s hand the tassel, so each Ceramic bottle comes to you as it was finished. Each one carries a ceramic charm engraved with R.

Pomelo blossom, sugarcane and raspberry open it; magnolia, tea and lily of the valley follow; sandalwood, orris, musk and vetiver stay at the base. Its sweetness comes from tea, honey, blossom and rice cake rather than vanilla or caramel, and the base remains quiet.
