One day from now, Light and Shadow — an exhibition of olfactory art like no other — opens on 14 February. It is less an event than a subtle journey, in which light, shadow and fragrance combine into something full of feeling.

The space nears completion, so that scent can tell its story

Right now, the finishing touches are still being put to the Light and Shadow exhibition space at Tách Spaces before it welcomes its first visitors. The lighting is being adjusted with great care, creating areas of artful contrast. More than mere illumination, light in Light and Shadow acts as a narrator, drawing out the opposition between what is lit and what lies in shadow, and offering perspectives of real depth. As you walk in, you will feel the light change with every step, a soft glow giving way without warning to streaks of deep darkness. This careful arrangement will lead you to ask yourself: are light and shadow truly opposites, or simply different sides of the same story?

When scent becomes the language of emotion

Alongside the light, the final notes are being fine-tuned to sit in perfect balance with the space. Each scent is a layer of feeling, part of a story about contrast and harmony. Rei Nguyen, the perfumer behind the exhibition, spent many months creating scents that not only awaken the sense of smell but also stir something deep within each visitor. The layers of scent here are more than a passing sensation: they hold memories and moments, folded into every note. From the freshness of early-morning light to the warm, hushed notes of shadow, each room brings a different register of feeling, so that every visitor follows a path entirely their own.
